Water Filter Certification: Model-Specific Evidence for OEM Buyers
Certification should be read as evidence for an identified model and claim, not as a promise that an entire supplier range has the same performance. For an OEM or private-label project, connect the proposed product reference with the holder, model, scope, conditions and dates on the supporting record.
What NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 describe
NSF describes Standard 42 as addressing aesthetic effects such as chlorine taste and odour, and Standard 53 as addressing specified contaminants with health effects. A standard number is not a ranking, and certification does not mean reduction of every contaminant. Check the exact model and claimed reduction in the current listing.
Do not treat different documents as interchangeable
A material assessment, a management-system certificate, a registration record and a finished-filter performance report answer different questions. There is no automatic equivalence between a regional approval and every claim associated with another standard. Ask the issuing body and the party responsible for the target-market requirements which evidence applies to the selected configuration.

Those documents must not be silently reassigned to another company or assumed to cover every HY and CMF model. Request the applicable current documentation for the configuration you intend to order.
Prepare the evidence request before sampling
Send the intended application, market and exact model or drawing. Identify the claim that needs support and the relevant flow, capacity and installation conditions. Keep component references and finished-product references separate so a private-label artwork does not promise more than the matched evidence supports.
