Filtration Technology and Media Selection
Pre-filtration
Captures sediment and protects later stages.
Activated Carbon
Reduces chlorine, taste and odour.
Scale Management
Addresses minerals according to configuration.
What to consider
- Media selection
- Contact time and flow
- Incoming water quality
- Validated performance data
Selection questions
What should I specify before choosing filtration media?
Provide incoming-water data, the intended application, required flow and the selected cartridge format. Compare the proposed configuration with its validated performance data.
How should I compare filter specifications?
Check the media, rated flow, stated filtration rating, capacity and test conditions together. Request documentation for the exact configuration being evaluated.
Define the filtration specification
For a custom cartridge, describe the water-quality concern, target flow, cartridge size and connection format. Ask for the stated filtration rating, capacity and performance data for that configuration. The same media category can be used in different product formats, so a media name alone does not define the finished filter specification.

Read media claims alongside finished-filter evidence
A media description explains what is proposed inside a cartridge; it does not identify the finished filter’s tested capacity, flow or reduction claims. Compare the drawing, field labels and performance documentation for the same configuration.
Product evidence and source notes explain catalog sizes, supplier statements and model-specific documentation. For a custom format, send the target application and installation requirements through custom cartridge development.
